Norfolk robber sentenced to more than two years in prison

A Norfolk man has been sentenced to two and a half years in prison for robbing cashiers at two separate stores in the area. On June 29, 2023, 48-year-old Christopher Scott Painter entered a 7-Eleven on Colley Avenue, claiming to have a gun and stealing several dozen cigarette cartons. Just a few weeks later, on July 15, Painter returned to the same 7-Eleven and physically pushed a clerk to steal more cigarettes.
