Georgia man confesses to raping and stabbing 15-year-old girl more than 80 times

Zachary Iona, a 22-year-old man from Gwinnett County, Georgia, was recently sentenced to at least 30 years in prison for the heinous crimes he committed against a 15-year-old girl in 2022. Court records indicate that Iona pleaded guilty to several charges, including rape, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, child molestation, statutory rape, and possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a felony. As a result, a judge handed down a life sentence with the possibility of parole after 30 years, along with five years of post-release parole. The officer in question, Caleb Crawford, had been serving with the department since August of 2021.
