DNA analysis leads to breakthrough in 34-year-old cold case of body found in Chesterfield County

The Chesterfield County Police Department has made a breakthrough in a cold case dating back to 1990 by identifying the remains of a man through DNA analysis. It all began on May 18, 1990, when officers responded to a call about partially skeletonized remains of a man found in a wooded area near Point of Rocks Road. The remains were taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for analysis, which initially found no signs of foul play and ruled the death as undetermined.
