The Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training (MENFP) has announced that more than 12,000 teachers have already registered to participate in the apprenticeship compensation program and state examination organization. The registration process for these activities is set to conclude on Friday, May 24th. Over 12,000 teachers have shown interest in participating in the apprenticeship compensation program and state examinations, approximately 3 days after the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training (MENFP) opened the registration platform for these programs.
According to figures published by the ministry in a press release dated Tuesday, May 21, 2024, 12,036 teachers have registered to participate in these two activities. The ministry expressed satisfaction with the large mobilization of school principals and teachers to support these operations in the interest of their students. The government institution responsible for education in the country clarified that the registration process for these two operations will end on Friday, May 24th.
In a statement quoted by Loop Haiti, Nesmy Manigat, the director of the economic institution, emphasized the importance of continuing to support students in need of completing their educational programs. The ministry encourages all educational agents, including school principals, teachers, and parents, to continue accompanying students who require assistance to complete their educational programs, especially those in official examination classes. Additionally, the ministry encourages society as a whole not to neglect defending the rights of children and young people, which is a fundamental right.
The ministry also reminded the public of the dates for the state examinations this year:
- From July 22nd to July 24th: examinations for the 9th fundamental year;
- From July 22nd to July 26th: examinations for the Normal School Institute;
- From July 22nd to July 26th: examinations for family education health;
- From August 5th to August 8th: Baccalaureate examinations (Secondary 4).
The MENFP continues to provide assurance to all educational agents, particularly school principals and parents, and has taken all necessary measures to allow for the permanent evaluation center, in collaboration with the National State Examination Office, to organize state exams for areas facing difficulties, such as some municipalities in the West and Artibonite departments. It is worth noting that on May 7, 2024, MENFP launched the recruitment of teachers for the apprenticeship compensation program and official state examinations for the academic year 2023-2024.
Considering the current situation in the country, which has disrupted the school calendar and affected the teaching and learning processes, the MENFP has reintroduced compensatory measures to support student learning. This reflects the ministry's commitment to ensuring that students receive the necessary support to continue their education despite the challenges they may face.
