Blackman and Thompson selected for Trinidad and Tobago team at the 2024 CCCAN

Olympian Cherelle Thompson and Commonwealth Youth Games champion Nikoli Blackman are part of the Trinidad and Tobago team for the 2024 CCCAN Championship in Mexico. The duo is set to represent their country in the swimming events scheduled from 17-22 June, followed by the open water competition from 26-29 June. Thompson and Ornella Walker have been selected in the 18 and over girls category, while Blackman is part of the 18 and over boys team along with Aqeel Joseph, Cadell Lyons, Graham Chatoor, Christian Awah, Johan-Matthew Matamoro, Kael Yorke, and Riquelio Joseph. The swimming team includes Zara Persico, Taylor Marchan, Marina Martinez, Zalayhar Lewis (11-12 Girls), Ethan McMillan-Cole, and Kyle Leera (11-12 Boys). In the 13-14 category, Aimee LaBlanc, Breanna Belmar, Asia-Marie Pouchet (girls) along with Jaden Mills, Aaron Colthrust, Alejandro Agard, and Shian Griffith have been chosen to represent Trinidad and Tobago. The 15-17 Girls team is made up of Tyla Ho A Shu, Amari Ash, Amelia Rajack, Zuri Ferguson, Isabella Diffenthaller, and Catherine Diffenthaller. On the other hand, the 15-17 Boys team consists of Zachary Antony, Evan Gillard Bruce, Liam Carrington, Anpherne Bernard, and Liam Roberts. Subway Maracas Open Water 2024 500m champions Zachary Anthony and Aimee LeBlanc are also part of the national open water team. Anthony and Jannai Applewhaite are selected for the 14-17 Boys 5k team, while Anthony will also compete in the 10k 14-17 Boys category. LeBlanc is set to participate in the Girls 14-17 5k event. Other notable participants include Marena Martinez (12-13 Girls 3k), Chad Baboolal and Khristian Allen (12-13 Boys 3k), and Tyrell Celestine (5k 18 and over boys). The coaching staff for the Trinidad and Tobago team includes Stephen Mendoza as the Head Coach for Swimming, Maurice Faria as the Head Coach for Open Water, Mark Pouchet as the assistant coach for swimming, and Bertram Blackman as the team manager. The chaperones responsible for the team are Keith Matamoro and Robyn LeBlanc.
