Resentencing of Rapist and Murderer Adjourned to August

Michael Charles Brown, a notorious rapist and murderer, is currently awaiting resentencing which has been postponed to August, as per court records. The 49-year-old had a hearing recently where the decision to postpone the resentencing was made. A change in the law in 2020 specifically addressing enhancements for prior prison terms has implications on Brown’s case. This change mandates that all defendants previously sentenced with that enhancement must be resentenced, but only with regards to that particular enhancement.
