Resentencing of Rapist and Murderer Adjourned to August

Michael Charles Brown, a notorious rapist and murderer, is currently awaiting resentencing which has been postponed to August, as per court records. The 49-year-old had a hearing recently where the decision to postpone the resentencing was made. A change in the law in 2020 specifically addressing enhancements for prior prison terms has implications on Brown’s case. This change mandates that all defendants previously sentenced with that enhancement must be resentenced, but only with regards to that particular enhancement. Good Samaritan in south Edmonton attacked while attempting to intervene in hit-and-run incident

On a Friday morning in south Edmonton, the police were called to a strange series of events involving a collision and an assault. Three suspects were involved, one of whom had stab wounds. The incident began after a collision near Scona Road and 94th Avenue between a black Ford Fusion sedan and a black Hyundai Sonata. The driver of the Ford attempted to flee the scene but was blocked by a woman driving a silver Dodge RAM pickup truck. The two women in the suspect vehicle then assaulted the woman in the pickup truck, leading to a self-defense action where the woman stabbed one of the attackers. The suspects, including a man, then fled the scene, leaving behind injured individuals. Innocent man acquitted of killing former Fettes College teacher Peter Coshan

A 65-year-old man was recently acquitted of murdering a retired teacher from Fettes College, but he was found guilty of perverting the course of justice by disposing of the body and providing misleading information to the authorities. The accused, Paul Black, along with his flatmate, Paul McNaughton, allegedly hatched a plan to steal a substantial amount of money from the victim, Peter Coshan, through a catfishing scheme.
