Man from Kingston taken into custody for reportedly vandalizing synagogue

Kingston, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in connection with a hate crime investigation. Caleb Rochester, 55, a Kingston man, is facing multiple charges after detectives received a report from the Temple Emanuel Synagogue in Kingston on March 25. The report detailed a banner with antisemitic language and artwork that was found posted on the building, causing damage to the façade due to the adhesive used. The subsequent investigation led to the identification of Rochester as a suspect, and he was taken into custody on May 16.
