Colonie fireman charged with attempted sexual offense after serving for several years

Colonie man, John Redick, was charged with first-degree attempted disseminating of indecent material to minors following a sex crime investigation by the Colonie Police Department. The 68-year-old allegedly sent a sexually explicit digital image to someone he believed was a teenage boy. Redick, who is reportedly a lifetime member of the Colonie Fire Company, was arrested on March 18 and arraigned at the Town of Colonie Justice Court. He was released under the supervision of the Albany County Probation Department pending an upcoming court appearance.
